Checkmate Animatics

These are our animatics. I think we still need to work on the speed of our cuts but overall these will help us with our filming and especially with our editing.
We also have to develop our script more and finish our music.

At 16 seconds into our animatics there is a sudden cut to a close up of our actress's face. We have chosen to do this because it shows the full emotion in her face, and the sudden cut allows her shock to be enhanced.
At 1:27 we have chosen to shoot a birds eye shot of her lowering herself into a bath. This shot is important because we want to make it obvious that she is trying to kill herself, so it is important to see her submerging herself under the water.
When we film these shots, we will probably try a variety of different angles so that we have lots to choose from and also different angles may connote different things. However, the shots may differ from our animatics because when it comes to filming and editing, things may look better or different as live motion rather than drawings.

I am looking forward to creating the split screen as we recently worked out how to create one. This will add something extra to our film trailer and also give us a change to use our new skills.

  1. Use this to show your understnding of effective transitions and camera angles. Pick 2/3 to discuss your reasons for choosing them and analyse their suggested effectiveness. Acknowledge that there will probably be changes between this and your real trailer.
